5 Biggest announcements made at Dell Technologies World 2020
Dell Technologies has made bold announcements at the Dell Technologies World 2020. Right from offering new storage as a service to cloud console, the company is working to transform the experience for end customers.
The event was originally scheduled to take place in May 2020, in Las Vegas. Dell changed this to digital event amid Covid-19 pandemic. Here are the 5 biggest announcements made at Dell Technologies World 2020.
1. Project Apex
Dell believes that 75% of infrastructure will be at the edge over the next four years and 50% of all data centre infrastructure will be consumed as a service.
Project Apex is designed to simplify how customers and partners access the as-a-service capabilities across storage, networking, PCs and architectural offerings.
2. All-new cloud console
Dell’s cloud console is part of Project Apex. It offers a single, self-service online interface to manage every aspect of the cloud and as-a-service strategy.
The cloud console is now available as a public preview in the US.
3. Storage as a service
Project Apex is a first turnkey on-premise storage service, managed by Dell for channel partners. The customers that want to deploy Storage as a Service can use the cloud console interface.
The service will enable customers to pay for what they use and boost opex flexibility.
4. Flex on Demand
Dell is coming up with a pay-per-use Flex on Demand financial program under Dell Financial Services.
The launch simplifies the procurement and ordering process for customers and predefined configurations.
5. Cloud PowerProtect for Multi-Cloud
The company unveiled fully managed service to help customers protect their data and applicants across public clouds.
Dell believes that businesses can save costs using PowerProtect’s deduplication technology. The service is now available in the US, UK and Germany.
